The Three Fates, St. Stephen’s Green, Dublin

!

All the world’s Greens should be sanctified as saints.

Parks are havens for ancient art, for artists creating.

Strollers conceive the future as an insubordinate dream.

In St. Stephen’s Green, The Three Fates confound eternity

By being the fullness of time.  Past Fate, Present Fate connive. Future Fate waits apart.

!

This first sister found for man men who were all men, women who were all women.

Her successor, the second sister resurrects their ancient heroism in others.

A  final sister now sits patiently, listens before weaving fates anew.

Perhaps she is confounded by the music of human voices,

Too in love with love for them all.

!

They beckon from every direction, beckon towards every man, woman, child.

If future fates be forsaken by this sister, so be it.

Intuit as she, we are a joy in ourselves,

Beyond her weaves, a destination unto ourselves.

Smile into the heavens and call such freedom from Fate’s interference, “Peace.”

!

Breathe.
